It is said jokingly that there are two kinds of people in the world, those who are Italian, and those who wish they were Italian. Well, if you’re a foodie like me then we can assume the saying is true! Think about this… have you ever met anyone who really doesn’t like Italian food? I bet you haven’t!

Vetture’s Restaurant and Pizzeria is where timeless Italian fare intersects with a casual family setting, blending your favorite Italian dishes and style with the family you never knew you had.

Entering through the front doors of Vetture’s, the soft sound of music will fill your ears and your mouth will start to water as you taste all the flavors in the air. The scent of fresh herbs, newly baked dough and cheeses will hug you just before you’re greeted with a warm smile and lead to your table. The experience is enough to make you feel like you’ve traveled overseas.

Originally from Staten Island, NY. Rick Maida his wife Dianne gave up Rick’s successful Coca Cola route and relocated to Florida in 1991. They both knew right away they had found their home and a place to raise their four kids. As a new Floridian, Rick tried his hand in entertainment and opened a pool hall with his brother in Clearwater. After some time Rick realized something was missing and decided to share his love for Italian cuisine with his community. Ricks parents were both born and raised in Italy and many of the recipes served at Vetture’s have been close to the family for generations. Rick and Dianne both share compassion to help and give back to their community. Dianne has been a nurse at All Children’s Hospital for over 40 years, and Rick has been involved with local school athletics as well as coaching and mentoring children. Rick, who has always loved football and been coaching since 1994 has left his legacy with the East Lake JV, East Lake High School, and Youth Football teams. The love that the Maida family has for the Tampa Bay area carries over into Vetture’s Restaurant and Pizzeria. Aside from the generous student discounts, you can always find them giving back and treating their football family to a meal on game day.

Yes, you can always find a line of deliveries and orders ready to be taken but there is no competition when it comes to the passion Chef, Paulie Pennacchini has for cooking. Having over thirty years in the industry, his creations and combinations of flavor is what keeps us coming back for more.  Chef Paulie has brought to life an impressive menu of popular Italian dishes that can be complemented with soup or salad, a nice merlot or frosty beer, and a delicious homemade dessert.
